Louisiana governor leaves Indian affairs office vacant for years
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) has left the Office of Indian Affairs vacant for six years, a Republican lawmaker said.As a result, Rep. Joe Harrison (R) said tribes in the state are missing out on millions of dollars in federal funds. He’s sponsoring HB441 to restructure the office into a commission whose 14 members would represent each of the federally and state recognized tribes.

This is a striking example of government incompetence. It can’t POSSIBLY be that hard to appoint someone to the Office of Indian Affairs. REALLY?!
